Nami – The Beautiful Navigator

Eiichiro Oda created the fictitious character Nami for the One Piece series. She is modeled after the characters Ann and Silk from Oda’s earlier comic Romance Dawn. She is introduced as a pickpocket and thief who is knowledgeable about maps, the weather, and navigation. She is first a fisherman Arlong’s servant, but she soon gains her freedom from this position and permanently joins Monkey D. Luffy to realize her desire of making a complete map of the world.

The navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates in the TV show is Nami, who aspires to create a map of the entire planet. She initially has a negative opinion of pirates, but after meeting Luffy and the rest of the crew, she soon comes around. She is shown as a bright young woman who is driven to accumulate wealth. The most notable of these staff weapons is the Clima-Tact, in which she manipulates the environment to produce weather-based attacks. How Was Nami Created?

The characters Silk and Ann from Eiichiro Oda’s one-shot manga Romance Dawn served as the inspiration for Nami. Silk and Ann had horrible pasts and no parents in these tales. Nami was created by Oda as a human girl. Oda originally intended for her to use a big axe, but he later switched to a pole-based weapon. She was the lone female crew member in an early version of the Straw Hats.

Nami is stylish, and she varies her look throughout One Piece. She made her debut dressed in an orange mini-skirt, orange boots, and a white and blue striped top. Nami frequently appears in the series sporting a skirt, high-heeled sandals, and a blouse or bikini top. Nami has a three-sectioned bo staff at the beginning of the story up until Usopp develops a version of her staff called the Clima-Tact that has the ability to change the weather whenever she wants. Later, Usopp upgrades her weapon into the Perfect Clima-Tact and ups her strike power utilizing dials.
