Background Of The Event

The Daughters of Bilitis lesbian group and the gay men’s organization Mattachine Society coordinated the Annual Reminder pickets in 1965, where the homosexual rights protest movement was evident. Members of the Mattachine group participated in protests in favor of homosexual prisoners held in Cuban work camps. In 1965, each of these organizations staged protests at the White House and the UN.

Following a police raid on the Stonewall Inn in the Greenwich Village section of Lower Manhattan, New York City, LGBTQ individuals rioted early on Saturday, June 28, 1969. South Africa

Vietnam

The first LGBT Viet Pride event took place in Hanoi, Vietnam, on August 3, 2012, and included inside activities like film screenings and research presentations as well as a cycling rally on August 5 that drew up to 200 individuals biking in support of the LGBT cause.
